The city of Florence is bursting with masterpieces by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Leonardo and Raphael to name a few, and we did our best to see it all. One of the highlights of Florence was climbing to the top of the Brunelleschi Duomo.  From that vantage point, you could see the entire city and countryside.  If you looked straight down, the view was dizzying, or maybe I was light-headed because I just climbed all of those stairs.   When we went to the Uffizi gallery, the wait for others at that gallery was 4 hours!  But since we were on a Rick Steves tour, we walked right in.  In addition to Patricia, we also had guides in each city that were experts in the local history and art, another advantage of the tour.
